A completely different kind of Holi (The Festival Of colours) is played within 100 kilometers from the heart of Delhi In next few weeks there is another Holi coming up, the color of festival. A festival of joy and love. Holi in Braj region is played for more than a week in innumerable temples of Radha-Krishna with limitless enthusiasm and devotion by thousands of people. I had been to Brindavan earlier, but not during ‘Holi’. So the experience of ‘Holi’ in Barsana and Nandgaon was simply out of the World. I drove down from Delhi. A forgotten tale of Deeg

Deeg Palace.. a forgotten tale of an Indian king. We often forget that the name of the commonly known 'Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary' is 'Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary', which comes from the Keoladeo temple (Lord Shiva) next to the watch-tower in the middle of the sanctuary. Such is the story of Deeg! How to reach Deeg Deeg is153 kms from New Delhi & 98 kms from Agra) falls within the territorial limits of the holy Braj-Bhumi. Known as ancient Dirghapura in district Bharatpur of Rajasthan, Deeg became a stronghold of the Jat rulers during 18th -19th cent AD. Deeg is deeply connected with the rise of the Jat peasants under the leadership of Rajaram (AD 1686-88), Bhajja Singh (AD 1688-98) and Chudaman (AD 1695-1721). A new year again for making a brand new wish!

First day of the new year makes us feel nostalgic, at least it happens with me sometimes. An audit goes on within the mind, as how the previous year passed and what will be the new year resolutions, validity for those resolutions become only for 10days .. ok, let's make it better ..20 days at the most? So, I am starting to write today on the fifth day of the year 2015. As this writing falls in my new year's resolution. To write some, to click some, to draw some and also to play some. And to do lot more work. Too many things in  the list? I too feel so. So, it's my time for the test and see how long can I continue and if they last beyond 15 days! Last summer I went to Ladakh, but didn't still have gone through all my photographs nor could write more than two pages on the trip. But it's alright! It happens perhaps!
